Humphreys Peak, September 1, 2003
On September 1, 2003, Bill Urbanski (WCU), Ed Urbanski (EEU), Tom Karchesky (Tom), and I (SKU) left the Snow Bowl parking lot very early in the morning and proceeded up the main trail. The weather was beautiful on the way up, but an eerie cloud lingered over the summit when we arrived at the top around 8:30 am. As the cloud grew, we decided to depart the summit and head back down before the weather got bad. As we approached the trail head, we encountered hail and heavy rain. The parade of people we saw coming up on our way day seemed ill prepared for the weather. Overall, it was an enjoyable hike.
Here's the pictures. Enjoy.
