Whitney Portal road ends at the Whitney Portal Store, after traveling through some familiar scenery. A number of movies and television series were filmed in the Alabama Hills along Whitney Portal Road. Don't forget to stop a few miles in. There is a plague dedicated to some of the films and televison shows that were filmed in this picturesque location. The main trail begins right outside the Whitney Portal Store.
