Mount Elbert Photos

On August 6, 2005, Tom Karchesy (aka Dr. Thunder), EEU, WCU, and I summited Mount Elbert.  The weather was beautiful.  We were the furst group on the summit, having left our campsite ain the pre-dawn hours.  We met another couple on the summit and saw probably 50 plus people coming up the trail on our way down.  We came up the trail from the Twin Lakes side of the mountain.  I recommend this trail.  It's not a difficult climb, although the very beginning consists of conflicting dirt roads and trails.  We lost some time finding the right trail in the pre-dawn hours, and a few in our group took a wrong trail or two on the way down.  Overall, it was a very enjoyable climb.  Here's some photos.
