Highpointers Club Information and Links Page

The Highpointers club grew out of an classified ad placed in Outside Magazine in October, 1986 by Jack Longacre. Jack's ad requested that anyone interested in reaching the highest point in every state contact him.  The response that Jack received was tremendous and made him realize that there were many others who shared his passion.  We lost Jack in 2002 after a valiant battle with cancer.

Since it's humble beginnings, the Highpointers Club has grown to over 3000 members.  The Club holds a annual convention at one of the fifty highpoints, publishes a quarterly newsletter, a hosts its own official web site.  The club boasts members from every state and from around the world.  As of the 2003 Highpointers' Convention, 121 people have reached the summit of every state.
