Directions from the East
From Exit 17 on Interstate 81 in Virginia, take US58A 49.6 miles to its junction with US 23 South near Norton, Virginia. Take Business US 23 11.3 miles into Appalachia, Virginia. Make a right turn onto State Route 160. Take State Route 160 West 7.9 miles to the KY/VA border. Just before the "Welcome to Kentucky" sign, make a left turn onto a paved road. Follow the paved road for about 1.5 miles. After about 1.4 miles, you will pass by the FAA radar dome. The pavement ends shortly after the radar dome. About 0.1 miles past the radar dome, there will be a turn off to the left. This road/path is usually blocked by a pad-locked gate. Park here.

From Interstate 64, Exit 191, (just West of the KY/WV border) take US 23 South 129 miles to the town of Norton, Virginia. Take Business US 23 11.3 miles into Appalachia, Virginia. Make a right turn onto State Route 160. Take State Route 160 West 7.9 miles to the KY/VA border. Just before the "Welcome to Kentucky" sign, make a left turn onto a paved road.
