Hiking Directions for Eagle Mountain
Fill out the BWCAW permit form at the trailhead. Follow the Eagle Mountain hiking trail. The trail is fairly flat, but extremely rocky. You'll cross several wooden walkways as you proceed along the trail. After about two miles, you will pass Whale Lake. Follow the trail as it circles the West end of the lake. After several minutes, you will pass a sign for a campsite. After this sign, you will see a sign to Eagle Mountain. This will take you to the left. Follow the trail as it makes it way uphill past a scenic overlook. After 5 to 10 minutes of hiking, you will approach the summit.
The highpoint is marked with a plague.
