Directions from the South
Take Exit 64 from Interstate 40. Proceed North on Route 9 10.1 miles to the junction with the Blue Ridge Parkway. Take the Blue Ridge Parkway South .8 miles to a junction with Route 128. Make a right turn onto Route 128. Take Route 128 4.2 miles to the parking lot. The trail to the summit begins just right of the museum.
Directions from Clingmans Dome
From the Tennessee/North Carolina border, take US 441 South 16 miles to the junction with the Blue Ridge Parkway. Take the Blue Ridge Parkway North 13.0 miles to a junction with US 19. (For a more scenic route, you can continue on the Blue Ridge Parkway for another 97 miles to the junction with Route 128) Take US 19 25.25 miles to Interstate 40 East. Take Interstate 40 East 27 miles to Exit 46. Proceed North on Route 9 10.1 miles to the junction with the Blue Ridge Parkway. Take the Blue Ridge Parkway South .8 miles to a junction with Route 128. Make a left turn onto Route 128. Take Route 128 4.2 miles to the parking lot. The trail to the summit begins just right of the museum.
